This week all students will have 16 spelling words. We are gradually adding to the weekly list to get to 20 words for the week. Base and alternate lists will be determined as in the past weeks.
On Monday the students are completing research on their famous people. Then we will be spending time writing the reports as we work on publishing the paper. These will be on display during Open House later in the month.
3H math has the chapter 6 test on Wednesday and review homework is coming home Monday. We also have a test on Friday in social studies. This is on the San Antonio chapter.

It seems that January has gone by very quickly. Now let's hope we get to see some sunshine this week before the month ends!
I hope you have gone over your child's report card by now. Please keep all the inserts, sign the envelope, and send it back to school with your child. Thank you to all who have returned the note about conferences. If you have concerns and I haven't scheduled a conference, please contact me to schedule one.
This Wednesday the students will have a test on the Jamestown chapter in social studies. They will also be making a time line of events in their lives. A note is coming home to remind them to gather information for the timeline.
All classes are continuing to work on math extended response questions and different problem solving strategies. This week we have regular math class only 3 days because Mrs. Sampson has had to change her schedule for Project Arrow testing. My class will have the next unit test on geometry in the following week - probably Feb. 3.
Please remind your child to always have a book at school to read if there is open time.
