Happy Mothers' Day to everyone! I hope you have had a great day with your family.
I am looking forward to seeing all the power point presentations on countries this week. The students have worked quite hard on them. If you want a copy of your child's project, please send in a flash drive, and we will save it to take home.
We have a social studies test on the immigration chapter this Wednesday. Tell your child to bring home the book Monday for an extra day of studying.
The music program is on Thursday night for our class. They will be singing alone, so we need everyone to come that evening! 3G and 3M have their program on Wednesday night.
There is no school for students on Friday, because we teachers will be involved in school improvement activities.

Today, Tuesday, all students should be bringing home a schedule for the sharing of country power points next week. They are working on these for several sessions this week. Your child needs to be ready to tell about his/her country, using the power point. Please have your child tell you facts from the fact sheet attached to the schedule. This will give helpful preparation for sharing in front of the class.
Thank you to all who returned the grade progress reports. Please send your child's back to school as soon as possible.
3H has a math test this Friday. This covers basic units of measurement for length, weight, height, and capacity, as well as finding the median, mean, and mode. The review will come home on Thursday. Friday is also Brookdale spirit day.
Thank you to all parents who donated money and time to the lounge decorating! It looks so wonderful! As the only teacher who has been here all 25 years of Brookdale, I can tell you it needed to be updated! Thank you, also, for the flowers and gift certificate! It is very nice to be appreciated:)

The students enjoyed a very nice trip to see Slim Goodbody last Friday. In spite of late buses, we were able to see the entire show and ate lunch in the classroom when we returned to school.
There is a science test on the moon on Wednesday this week. The study guide will come home Tuesday. Students are finishing research on their chosen country on Monday this week. We will then begin work on Power Point projects to share the information. This will be the only grade for this research project, so I will be checking power points for spelling, grammar, and accuracy of information.
Good job to all students who are continuing to read at home and return the reading logs! We have decorated many stars for the hallway bulletin board, and we should be doing more of them this week.
